தமிழ்நாட்டில் தேர்தல் நாளில் ஊதியத்துடன் கூடிய விடுமுறை அளிக்குமாறு தனியார் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு தேர்தல் ஆணையம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழ்நாட்டில் சட்டப்பேரவைக்கான தேர்தல் ஏப்ரல் 23 ஆம் தேதியில் நடைபெறவுள்ளது. தொடர்ந்து, மே 4 ஆம் தேதியில் தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
இந்த நிலையில், தேர்தல் நாளில் (ஏப்ரல் 23) தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள், தனியார் தொழிற்சாலைகளில் ஊழியர்களுக்கு ஊதியத்துடன் கூடிய விடுமுறை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று தேர்தல் ஆணையம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.
வாக்காளர்கள், தங்கள் ஜனநாயக உரிமையை எந்தவிதத் தடையுமில்லாமல் பயன்படுத்துவதை உறுதி செய்யும் வகையிலும், எந்த அச்சமும் இல்லாமல் வாக்களிப்பதையும் உறுதி செய்ய தேர்தல் ஆணையம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.
இதனை மீறும் நிறுவனங்கள் மீது தொழிலாளர் நலத்துறை மூலம் கடும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என்றும் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் எச்சரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளது.

Madam/Sir,
Under Article 324(1) of the Constitution of India,superintendence, direction, and control of the preparation, revision and correction of electoral roll and conduct of all elections to the Parliament and State Legislature and election to the offices of President and Vice-President shall be vested in the Election Commission of India. For this purpose, Article 324(6) further provides that the President or the Governor of a State, shall,when so requested by the Election Commission, make available such staff as may be necessary for the discharge of the above functions conferred on the Election Commission of India.
2. Conduct of elections and preparation of electoral rolls involve diverse activities at various levels which require involvement of sizeable number of officials and field level functionaries of various authorities, including the Governments, in such exercises. The Commission has always endeavored to ensure free and fair elections and, in this regard, has issued numerous instructions on various crucial aspects of election process including requisition of staff for election duties. Now, in supersession of all the previous instructions in the matter, a revised and consolidated instruction is being issued by the Commission for scrupulous compliance by all concerned authorities.
3. In pursuance of the above Constitutional provisions contained in Article 324(6), a well derived structure of electoral machinery has been provided in the election laws contained in Part IIA (Section 13A to 13CC) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 and corresponding provisions given in Part IV (Section 20 to 29) of the Representation of the People Act,1951.
Further, Section 159 of R P Act, 1951 lists out the authorities who shall make their staff available to the Returning Officers, when so requested by the CEO of the State. Under this provision, the Chief Electoral Officer can issue orders for requisitioning of staff from the authorities mentioned in the said legal provision to make available to Returning Officers as may be necessary for performance of duties in connection with elections. However,appointments of staff so seconded to Returning Officer, should be made by District Election Officer under Section 26 of the Representation of People Act 1951. Sections, 27, 28, 28A and 29 of the Representation of People Act 1951 are also relevant in this context.

Election Commission of India has announced the Schedule for General Elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, 2026 on 15.03.2026.
The Poll schedule is as follows:-

The Model Code of Conduct comes into force with immediate effect from the date of announcement i.e. 15.03.2026 and shall remain in force till the completion of election process. The Model Code of Conduct is applicable to all the Political Parties, all the Contesting Candidates, and the Government machinery. We request all the Political Parties and the contesting candidates to strictly abide by the Model Code and extend their fullest co-operation for conduct of free, fair, peaceful and inclusive election. All Secretaries to Government and Heads of Departments/ Boards/Corporations were also sensitized on MCC. As all Officers / officials, including Police engaged in the conduct of elections are deemed to be on deputation to the Election Commission of India as per section 13CC of Representation of People Act, 1950 and they were all instructed to discharge their duties in an impartial manner without fear or favor.
The final Electoral rolls with reference to 01.01.2026 as qualifying date were published on 23.02.2026. As on 15.03.2026, the total number of electors is 5,69,17,979 (Male:2,78,32,032; Female: 2,90,78,291 and Third Gender: 7,656) This includes 2446 Overseas Electors. There are 67,168 Service Electors in the final Electoral roll. Currently, the process of continuous revision is ongoing and all Eligible applications for addition can submit their Form 6 and form 8 (only for shifting) till 10 days before the last date for nominations.
All electors are requested to ensure the availability of their name in the elector roll and find their Part no and Sl no well in advance, so that they are able to identify their polling station locations before the elections. In order to facilitate the electors to find their names in the Electoral roll , they can use the online voter search facility or contact the concerned DEO facilitation center for assistance.
The Election Commission of India has been implementing all possible additional facilities to ensure all the voters enrolled in the electoral roll to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Action has been taken to facilitate voting through postal ballot to senior citizens aged above 85 years, and persons with above 40% benchmark disabilities including persons with intellectual disability and persons affected with Covid and taking treatment from home. (Absentee voters) The above persons have the option to apply for postal ballot to the Returning officer of the Legislative Assembly constituency within 5 days of the announcement of the elections.
Returning officers on receipt of the applications, verifying the eligibility will deliver the postal ballots at their home and take back the filled up postal ballots. Therefore, senior citizens aged above 85 years, persons with above 40% benchmark disabilities including persons with intellectual disability and persons who are taking treatment for Covid from home should fill up form 12D and handover to the returning officer within 5 days of notification.
It has been ensured that all the polling stations are provided with Assured Minimum Facilities such as adequate furniture, help desk, electricity and proper lighting, provision for ramp, proper signage, toilet, provision for drinking water ramps, shades, approach roads etc. Additional facilities for PwDs including Facilitation measures such as Wheel chairs, Wheel chair assistants / volunteers and adjustable tables are being arranged. For visually impaired, hearing impaired and speech impaired, Trained volunteers will be engaged at select booths. PwD voters can seek assistance through Saksham App developed by ECI.
The Election Expenditure Monitoring teams i.e., Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, Video Surveillance Teams, have started functioning round the clock in shifts from 15.03.2026. The supporting teams of Expenditure Monitoring Cell, Video Viewing Team, Accounting Team have also started functioning. The State Level / District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee have been constituted and started functioning for pre-certification of Political advertisements and to keep watch over the instances of Paid News. No advertisement in electronic media shall be published or telecasted without the prior certification obtained from the district level or State level MCMC.
Complaint redressal mechanism – Call center - The State / District Call Centre at Tamil Nadu is operational with toll free number 1800-4252-1950, District Contact Centre at all the District headquarters have been established with Toll Free Number 1950.SCC & DCC is working on 24 × 7 mode. Citizens can make use of the services in https://voters.eci.gov.in to find their sl.no. part no., location of the Polling Station and the contact details of their BLO.Web based online complaints can also be registered through NGS portal.
The Voters shall present his/her EPIC or any of the following 12 original Photo identification documents (Identity Cards) for identification as approved by the Commission which shall be used as alternate are as listed below.
(i) Aadhaar Card.
(ii) MGNREGA Job Card.
(iii) Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office.
(iv) Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour/Ayushman Bharat Health Card.
(v) Driving License.
(vi) PAN Card.
(vii) Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR.
(viii) Indian Passport.
(ix) Pension document with photograph.
(x) Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies.
(xi) Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and
(xii) Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
In order to ensure fair, free, transparent, and inclusive election some of the new initiatives include.
1. Mobile deposit facility at the Polling stations.
2. Going for a Clearer Voter Information Slip.
3. Use of Colour photo of Candidates and Large font size on EVM Ballot paper.
4. Limiting to a Maximum of 1200 Electors per polling station.
5. Permitting Candidates’ booth just outside 100 meters of PS.
6. Integrated ECINET – One-stop Digital platform for all key voter services
for all stakeholders.
7. 100% Webcasting at all PSs, ensures round the clock monitoring (inside
& outside).
8. Standard ID cards for the BLOs.

வாக்குப்பதிவு இயந்திரத்தில் வேட்பாளரின் வண்ண புகைப்படம் இடம் பெறும். தமிழ்நாட்டின் தேனி மாவட்டம், வருசநாடு மலைப்பகுதியில் 5 வாக்காளர்களுக்காக வெள்ளிமலை எனும் பகுதியில் வாக்குச்சாவடி மையம் அமைக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. 3 மணி நேரம் அதிகாரிகள் இதற்காக பயணிக்க வேண்டும் - தேர்தல் தேதி அறிவித்த போது தலைமைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையர் ஞானேஷ்குமார் இவ்வாறு குறிப்பிட்டு பேசினார்.
5 வாக்காளர்களுக்காக ஒரு வாக்குச்சாவடி!
வருசநாடு மலைப்பகுதியில் தேர்தல் ஆணையம் ஏற்பாடு
தமிழ்நாட்டில் சட்டமன்ற தேர்தலுக்காக 75,032 வாக்குச்சாவடி மையங்கள் அமைக்கப்படும்

ஒவ்வொரு வாக்குச்சாவடியின் வெளியே மொபைல் டெபாசிட் மையம் அமைக்கப்படும்.
அதன்படி, தமிழ்நாட்டில் வரும் ஏப்ரல் 23ம் தேதி ஒரேகட்டமாக 234 தொகுதிகளுக்கும் வாக்குப்பதிவு நடைபெறும் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்நிலையில், தமிழ்நாட்டில் சட்டமன்ற தேர்தலுக்காக 75,032 வாக்குச்சாவடி மையங்கள் அமைக்கப்படும் என்று தலைமை தேர்தல் ஆணையர் ஞானேஷ் குமார் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
மேலும், தமிழ்நாட்டின் தேனி மாவட்டம் வருசநாடு மலைப்பகுதியில் 5 வாக்காளரகளுக்காக ஒரு வாக்குச்சாவடி மையம் அமைக்கப்படுகிறது.
தேர்தல் அதிகாரிகள் 3 மணி நேரம் பயணம் செய்து வெள்ளிமலை பகுதியில் வாக்குச்சாவடி மையம் அமைக்க உள்ளனர்.
ஒவ்வொரு வாக்குச்சாவடியின் வெளியே மொபைல் டெபாசிட் மையம் அமைக்கப்படும். வாக்களிக்க வருபவர்கள் தங்கள் செல்போனை பத்திரமாக வாக்குச்சாவடிக்கு வெளியே வைத்துச்செல்ல ஆணையம் ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளது.
அனைத்து வாக்குச்சாவடிகளிலும் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கு வீல் சேர் இருக்கும் வகையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்படும் என்றும் தேர்தல் ஆணையர் ஞானேஷ்குமார் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
தமிழ்நாட்டில் 75,032 வாக்குச்சாவடிகள் அமைக்கப்படும்.
8.5 லட்சம் பேர் பாதுகாப்பு பணிகளில் ஈடுபவர். 5 மாநிலங்களில் மொத்தம் 2.18 லட்சம் வாக்குச்சாவடிகள் அமைக்கப்படுகின்றன.
சராசரியாக 700 பேருக்கு ஒரு வாக்குச்சாவடி அமைக்கப்படும். வாக்குப்பதிவு முழுவதும் சிசிடிவி கேமராக்கள் மூலம் கண்காணிக்கப்படும்.
வாக்குச்சாவடிகளில் மொபைல் போன்களை பத்திரமாக வைத்திருக்க ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. வேட்பாளர்களின் வண்ணப்புகைப்படங்கள் வாக்குப்பதிவு இயந்திரங்களில் பொருத்தப்படும். பில் ஓக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் அடையாள அட்டை வழங்கப்படும்.
3 மணி நேரம் பயணம் செய்து வருசநாடு வாக்குச்சாவடிக்கு தேர்தல் அதிகாரிகள் செல்கிறார்கள். தேனி மாவட்டம் வருசநாடு மலைப்பகுதிக்கு செல்ல 3 மணி நேரம் பயணிக்க வேண்டும். 5 வாக்காளர்களுக்காக ஒரு வாக்குச்சாவடி அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஒவ்வொரு 2 மணி நேரத்துக்கும் ஒருமுறை வாக்குப்பதிவு சதவீதம் தெரிவிக்கப்படும் என்றார்.

செய்திக் குறிப்பு
இந்திய உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தால் WP(C) எண் 1072/ 2025 மற்றும் 1145/ 2025 ஆகிய வழக்குகளில் 29.01.2026 அன்று வழங்கப்பட்ட உத்தரவுகளின் அடிப்படையில், இந்தியத் தேர்தல் ஆணையமானது, 30.01.2026 அன்று வெளியிட்ட கடித எண் 23/ SIR/ 2026/ ERS -ல். "முரண்பாடுகள்" (Logical Discrepancies) என்ற பிரிவில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள நபர்களின் பெயர் பட்டியலை கிராமப் பஞ்சாயத்து அலுவலகங்கள், பொது இடங்கள் மற்றும் தாலுக்கா/ துணை பிரிவு அலுவலகங்கள். நகரப் பகுதிகளில் உள்ள வார்டு அலுவலகங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட இடங்களில் வெளியிட வேண்டும் என்று அறிவுறுத்தியது.
நபர்கள், மேலும், இம்முரண்பாடுகள் பிரிவில் பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடிய முரண்பாடுகளின் பட்டியல் வெளியிடப்பட்ட நாளிலிருந்து 10 நாட்களுக்குள், உரிய விளக்கத்துடன் தங்களது ஆவணங்களை / மறுப்புரைகளை நேரில் அல்லது தங்களது அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட பிரதிநிதி (வாக்குச்சாவடி முகவர்கள் உட்பட) மூலமாக சமர்ப்பிக்க அனுமதி வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்றும் ஆணையம் அறிவுறுத்தியது.
இதற்கமைவாக, இந்திய உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தின் உத்தரவுப்படி முரண்பாடுகளின் பட்டியல் வெளியிடப்பட்டு, அடுத்த 10 நாட்களுக்குள் தொடர்புடைய நபர்கள் தங்களது ஆவணங்களை / மறுப்புரைகளை சமர்ப்பிக்க அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். தற்போது. 01.01.2026-ஆம் தேதியை தகுதி நாளாகக் கொண்டு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வரும் சிறப்பு தீவிர திருத்தம் (Special Intensive Revision SIR) தொடர்பான இறுதி வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் 23.02.2026 அன்று வெளியிடப்படும்.

எஸ்ஐஆர் பணியில் ஈடுபட்ட சுமார் ஐந்து லட்சம் வாக்குச்சாவடி அதிகாரிகள், 12 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட அரசியல் கட்சிகளின் வாக்குச்சாவடி முகவர்களிடம் வாக்குச்சாவடி நிலையிலான கூட்டத்தில் இப்பட்டியலை ஒப்படைக்க வேண்டும்.
