Sub: School Education- Decision taken at the Law and Order Meeting chaired by Chief Secretary on 27.12.2021 - Follow up action - Instructions for Nominating Institute wise Nodal Officers - Reg.

With reference to the letters cited above it is stated that the subject "Unruly behavior of school students" was taken up for discussion in the Law and Order Meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary on During the discussion, the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai has requested to nominate nodal officers in the educational institutions to identify the problematic students and offer counseling to them, to avoid footboard travelling, inconvenience to public, assault on MTC staff and also monitor the activities of their students with a view to streamline the students towards academic improvement. In this connection, all the Chief Educational Officers are requested to instruct the heads of all institutions in the respective districts to nominate a nodal officer for each institution to categorize the students using bus travel for approaching school. It may be further continued by identifying the problematic students to advise them and to take follow up activities. In this regard, all the Chief Educational Officers are instructed to consider this as a serious issue as it creates Law and Order problem and to take immediate steps to nominate Nodal Officers in all educational institutions in their respective districts.
