Cyclone Fengal to make landfall on 30.11.2024 - Avoid Travel




ஃபெங்கல் புயல் 30.11.2024 அன்று கரையைக் கடக்கும் - பயணத்தைத் தவிர்க்க அறிவுறுத்தல்


ஃபெங்கல் சூறாவளி 30.11.2024 அன்று கரையைக் கடக்கும் என்பதால், கனமழை மற்றும் காற்று (60-90 கிமீ/மணி) எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. வீட்டிற்குள்ளேயே இருங்கள், பயணத்தைத் தவிர்க்கவும் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பிற்கான அதிகாரப்பூர்வ ஆலோசனைகளைப் பின்பற்றவும்.


 Heavy rains and winds (60-90 km/h) are expected as Cyclone Fengal makes landfall on 30.11.2024. Stay indoors, avoid travel, and follow official advisories for safety.

Cyclone Fengal Advisory

The Cyclone "Fengal" is expected to make its landfall on 30.11.2024 with wind speed ranging from 60 to 90 km/h and Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore,Villupuram, Kallakurichi and Mayiladuthurai districts may experience heavy rains and gusty winds. As a precautionary measure:

Holiday for Educational Institutions
□ All schools and colleges in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu
districts will remain closed. It is also instructed that no special classes or examinations be conducted for students. District Collectors of other districts for which heavy rainfall alert has been issued shall take a decision on declaring holiday to schools and colleges as per the situation prevailing.

Work-from-Home Advisory for IT Companies
□ IT companies are requested to allow their employees to work from home on 30.11.2024.

Temporary Suspension of Public Transport
□ Public transport services on the East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road
(OMR) will be temporarily suspended in the afternoon on 30.11.2024 as the cyclone
makes landfall.

Public Safety Advisory
□ Due to the likelihood of heavy rain and strong winds during the cyclone's landfall on 30.11.2024, the public are strictly advised to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority urges the general public to avoid visiting beaches, amusement parks and attending recreational events. The general public are requested to cooperate fully with the disaster prevention measures taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
